National Ensemble of Songs and Dances
The National Ensemble of Songs and Dances undertakes the recording and analysis, development and dissemination of Albanian’s ancient and contemporary folk music and dance, including its range of musical instruments and choreography. Traditional costumes and choruses are the key elements in the National Folk Ensemble. Equal to the unique sounds, the costumes are among the greatest national assets, not only from their originality, but also from the variety of colours, patterns and decorations. The Ensemble Choir has a repertoire that few other ensembles today possess. In 2012, the Albanian musician Shkelzen Doli and his ensemble performed Albanian folk music at the Vienna New Year concert, to great success.
