Albanian Tourism, 9 million tourists by autumn
The trend of influx of foreign tourists visiting Albania continues to increase, as the latest data from INSTAT and MTM statistics show that 9 million foreign tourists have entered our country from the beginning of the year to October. Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro stressed that this trend exceeds by 32% the figures of 2022, which is the record year of foreign visitors to Albania. According to statistics, only in October, 691 thousand foreign tourists entered our country, or 89% more compared to October last year. During the activity held for the summary and achievements of the tourist season of the year, Minister Kumbaro underlined that reservations have reached 70-80% of hotel capacities. According to Ms. Kumbaro, beyond the magic of the coast, Tirana has become a genuine tourist destination. In the latest publication of the World Tourism Organization (UNFLIX) of the World Tourism Barometer, Albania ranks third in the world and first in Europe for the growth of foreign visitor flows (+56%) for the months of January – July 2023. Even the travel giant “National Geographic” has ranked Albania among the 30 most interesting countries of the world that should be visited in 2024.
