20 years “Marie Kraja” The international Festival of Operatic Singers
This festival for 22 years represents a peak in Albanian cultural life. The International Opera Vocal Festival “Marie Kraja” returns to the stage of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet on March 27, 28, and 29, 2024.
For 22 years, this festival has been a pinnacle in the Albanian cultural life, and its organization has encouraged the promotion of the image of Albania and Albanian culture and art worldwide. The festival is judged by an international jury composed of world opera personalities, directors of European opera theaters, managers, and artist agencies, and operatic singers, ensuring fair competition and the promotion of the festival’s achievements on the international arena.
The competition is open to young lyric singers from around the world, aged 20 to 34.The 20th edition of the Festival will take place over three nights, where on the first night, young opera talents will perform on the stage of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in front of the International Jury.
On the last two nights, which will be broadcast live on the National Television “Top Channel,” they will showcase their vocal and stage talent to the art-loving public on and off the stage.
The International Opera Vocal Festival “Marie Kraja” was founded in 1999 by the “Culture – Media – Art” Association, with the aim to promote and develop young talents in the field of operatic art by gathering singers from different countries of the world in an international standard artistic competition.
On March 28 and 29, the Opera Theatre will shine as the arena where the new stars of the Albanian and world operatic stage will ascend, performing selected arias together with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
